Fundamentals First Sports is an organization birthed from a desire to educate, encourage, and empower athletes on all levels. FFS matures athletes by maximizing their full potential to obtain valuable skills, tools, and resources needed to accomplish their goals within their athletic journey. Fundamentals First Sports is a platform where we use our passion and expertise in sports to develop the complete athlete.

Our vision for the High School Summer Basketball League is to build, develop and manage a premiere platform for quality summer basketball competition. We believe that the HSSBL will provide athletes one of the most important avenues for the advancement of their athletic career. Our philosophy is to use our expertise and skills to educate, encourage, and equip young athletes to improve their knowledge of the game of basketball, through mentoring and coaching. We are passionate about building the complete athlete and we believe we have great potential to help student-athletes reach their goals.

HSSBL was created to give aspiring student-athletes the opportunity to play competitive summer league basketball with the goal of developing and equipping young men and women not only to compete on a collegiate level, but to inspire student-athletes to impact and build up their communities.

Our mission is to provide a competitive, friendly, and fun atmosphere for parents, coaches, and supporters to get involved in the advancement opportunities we provide for their players during their journey excelling in the game of basketball. Our objective is to provide a platform for student-athletes to become equitably visible and exposed to collegiate and professional opportunities.

Player Development Coach and Trainer, Jarrod Clark, the driving force behind Fundamentals First Sports, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the organization. With over 13 years of coaching and mentorship in the Metro Atlanta Area, Clark's journey from player to coach reflects a deep commitment to youth development in sports. A former member of the men's basketball team at Southern Polytechnic State University, Clark's playing experience laid the foundation for his coaching career. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, he transitioned into coaching with a desire to share his love for sports and mentor young athletes. Clark's coaching journey began in 2011 when he accepted a Head Middle School Boys Basketball coaching position, followed swiftly by a Head Varsity Boys Basketball coaching position in 2012. It was during this time that Clark discovered his passion for coaching and teaching the game of basketball. Through hosting basketball camps, clinics, and overseas exposure events, Clark demonstrated his dedication to player development and mentorship. He has worked tirelessly to empower athletes to reach their full potential, whether they're aspiring to earn basketball scholarships or pursue professional opportunities. Clark's commitment to youth extends beyond the basketball court. Volunteering and working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta further fueled his passion for making a positive impact on the next generation. His experiences have shaped him into a mentor, leader, and advocate for youth development in sports. Rooted in his own journey from player to coach, Clark's vision for Fundamentals First Sports is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every athlete has the opportunity to thrive. His dedication to educating, encouraging, and empowering young athletes drives everything the organization does, making him a respected figure in the Metro Atlanta sports community.
